The 2007 Miss Earth pageant was hosted by two countries. Vietnam hosted about 30 candidates up to November 2, 2007 and the remaining days up to the final night were at its home base in Philippines.

Pooja sats “I put in a lot of hard work and dedication to train for this pageant since winning the Miss India Earth title, so obviously I am happy with the outcome,” she says. “My trainers helped me and the clincher was to keep a positive frame of mind,” she adds.

It’s been a challenging one month for Pooja at Manila. The beauty queen is pursuing her MBBS. Participants in the Miss Earth contest are involved in environmental causes and the preservation of the Earth.
“I am pursuing medicine and I believe medicine, health and the environment are inter-related,” says Pooja. “So I could relate to the intellectual side of the pageant very well,” she adds.
